Meet Justin Samgar. He became a fulltime poet and his personal work is characterized by subjects like love, human behavior and questioning generally accepted reality. We are lucky to give away some of his spoken poems.
After winning a local poetry slam competition, I became resident poet at BNN and 3FM for a variety of Dutch radio and TV programs. Triggered by all the opportunities that suddenly came my way, I became a full time poet for media, corporations and events. At that time I started my company PoetryPusher. Because my ambition reaches beyond writing commissioned poetry, I gathered a collective of twenty-seven artists and musicians to release the album SpaceAgePoetry in 2013. This was a big personal success and it helped me plot the new course that I am still sailing. Besides making music, text and poetry, I also started performing on stage with my poetic cabaret show The Absolute Truth (De Absolute Waarheid) and self-published the accompanying bundle of fairy tales, also named De Absolute Waarheid. My personal work is characterized by subjects like love, human behavior and questioning generally accepted reality.
Event: #houdjemonddichter
#houdjemonddichter is a reasonably safe place in Amsterdam where the boundaries of word art are enchantingly yet brutally challenged and where provocatively flirting with other art forms is all too typical. Every three months ArtDeli hosts a new art exhibition with a scintillating theme. The latest theme is PUDDING. Per theme, I invite and challenge writers and performers to explore this theme during our one night together in this very special location. Bright young writers, seasoned poets, exceptional performers and our highly regarded audience congregate to get a taste of the atmosphere, beautiful words and remarkable art.
