As a little girl, shoes always fascinated me. They have a special effect on my mood. There is no better medicine for a listless and unattractive feeling than putting on a pair of heels. They make the legs longer, tighten the calf muscles, while giving you an elegant and gracefully confident posture.

As a shoe enthusiast, I was always looking for the perfect pair of basic heels: I love elegant, feminine, and stylish shoes of good quality. When my search for the perfect pair once again resulted in disappointment, I decided to design and produce my own collection of customizable shoes. I moved from Roermond to Amsterdam where my search began… the beginning of a journey filled with trials and tribulations, and eventually resulting in my own shoe label under the name ANNA van MILLS.
ANNA van MILLS represents what I believe in: personality, simplicity, quality, femininity with a bold twist, and uniqueness.

Although the start there has been a huge interest in the concept; I won the PR price during the Marie Claire Startersaward (2014) and I got nominated twice for the VIVA400 awards in the category Fashion (2014 & 2015). Futhermore, I’m hoping to get nominated for the Accenture Innovation award in category seamless shopping (October 2016).

Designing the perfect shoe takes place in a 3D environment

It took me 4 years to actually launch my website (sept. 2015); from crowdfunding campaigns, to finding manufacturers, to finding investors… I’ve seen it all ;-). Looking back, I’m very proud to say I actually did it. The ANNA van MILLS collection consists of three basic designs, a selection of basic elements and various leather types and colors, providing up to 45,000 possible combinations. Designing the perfect shoe takes place in a 3D environment and begins with choosing one of the three basic models: an ankle boot, a shootie (combination of a shoe and a bootie) or a pump. A pointed-toe, rounded-toe or peep-toe? 7cm or 9cm heel? Stiletto or block heel? It’s up to you!

The entire ANNA van MILLS collection is made in the Italian province of Le Marche. Every pair of ANNA van MILLS shoes is unique and is made in the workshop where specialists pay careful attention to every part of the process.
