I’m convinced that we have to know where our food is coming from. So that’s why my food truck De Melksnor (The Milky Mustache) serves products that are biological, sustainable or local.

After years working as study adviser at a High School, it was time to start for myself. I always had love for cooking and food, so my choice was easy. After research I choose to start my food truck De Melksnor. I really love the atmosphere of festivals and from experience I knew there was not a lot healthy food. I wanted to change that. It was really an adventure to explore the world of food trucks and to starting my own business. There are so many things I have to discover. It’s a great challenge! Every time you have to look to your concept and make it better.

I’m convinced that we have to know where our food is coming from. So that’s why I only use products that are biological, sustainable or from the Netherlands. We have so many great products that we need to use in our kitchen. So first I came with the Yogurt concept. Frozen and regular yogurt that people can decorate with different toppings like fruit, super food, granola, chocolate and more. A healthy snack or a good breakfast – lunch. But only yoghurt is very hard to make it profitable. So that’s why a year later I also serve sweet and healthy waffles. When people get out, they want something sweet, something what they don’t make at home.

Festivals are great, but it’s a big game you play. Just waiting how much you going to sell is exiting, but also very stressful. That’s why I choose to do catering beside festivals. De Melksnor stands for Dutch food from Dutch bodem. We serve old skool recipes with a modern twist.
