With a group of young and enthusiastic people we share an office space in Haarlem (NL). The surprising combination of marketing communication professionals and construction professionals under one roof are often the start of inspiring and eye-opening conversations. These conversations sometimes lead to questions longing for smart answers. The solution sometimes lies in communication and sometimes in construction. But the blend of these two different worlds created a synergy that we simply could not ignore. The concept of lemodi was born by answering the question: is it possible to create a crib which will follow your life, so that when you’re outgrown the crib it will stay useful in other pieces of furniture? After some sessions it was clear to us that this is possible. So there we started.
How cool would it be to, once when you’re older, make a whiskey cabinet out of elements that were once part of the crib you lied in as a child?

Convert it to and tiny desk or a cool picnic table. The first series of furniture focuses on the little people on earth: kids. Because that’s where life is starting, isn’t it? Our main goal is to build a furniture brand that supplies furniture for every phase in life; how cool would it be to, once when you’re older, make a whiskey cabinet out of elements that were once part of the crib you lied in as a child? As an extra, we challenged ourselves to design furniture that can be assembled without any screws, glue or other fasteners and tools.
This concept is already creating a way longer product life cycle than traditional consumer products. But we are aiming for closed loop products were no waste is left behind. We think this can be achieved by smart design solutions and additional services such as trade/exchange platforms for our customers.
